The modernization of IT and the cloud migration or integration that comes with it continue to be a key topic for CIOs in 2020. Word has gotten out about the benefits of the cloud, such as improved scalability of IT services, increasing IT security, higher availability and plannable costs for IT resources. This is also underlined by the findings of the latest Lünendonk study. According to the study, only ten percent of CIOs surveyed still utilize the classic licensing model when choosing new software solutions. The others have a clear cloud strategy.
Statistics show that demand for managed services is growing, as is the number of providers. Profondia has found that, of more than 13,000 Swiss companies with 30+ employees and 10+ IT staff, 9 in 10 companies use a cloud solution. The survey also shows that the number of companies that use a managed service for certain IT areas rose to 84 percent in 2018. All of these trends continue to grow.
